Ethiopia’s regime moves 20 political prisoners to a remote location ahead of U.S. Secretary of State arrival in Addis Ababa

The Woyanne junta has moved 20 prominent political prisoners, including journalist Woubshet Taye, to a remote prison camp in southern Ethiopia yesterday. The families of the political prisoners were not notified before the prisoners were taken to a prison camp near the town of Zeway, 6 hours drive from Addis Ababa. They were surprised and shocked to find out that the prisoners were not in Kality any longer when they arrived this morning.

The political prisoners moved to the remote location ahead of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s trip to Ethiopia. This is further shameful evidence of the Obama Administration’s hypocrisy when it comes to human rights and democracy in Africa.
